Election 2012

Was reading Obama's defense of his attacks against Romney for being a successful businessman.  Here the New York Times gives supportive space to its candidate:  http://www.nytimes.com/2012/05/22/us/politics/obama-defends-attacks-on-romneys-record-at-bain.html?_r=1&nl=business&emc=edit_dlbkam_20120522

I was watching the recent Atlas Shrugged, Part One film via nflx.  Fountainhead is the only Rand novel that I have reread since my libertarian youth.  I was curious to see how the film would look, set in a future at roughly the end of Obama's second term.  And what most struck me, not for the first time, is that her villains always seemed both overblown and also realistic.  So, Obama the sententious anti-businessman, who got rich by going into 'public service', vs an actual capitalist.  I'm not happy about having to pull the lever for a Mormon- theologically they're America's first New Age religion, and less power to 'em.  But at least he's not going to kill the economy because business is evil; he's not going to surrender to some trumped-up 'king' in Araby because America is evil.
